Post Body

My partner is going to get roughly this sum after her father died and shares in a property he owned were sold. Part of the money is actually coming directly from her mother of her own accord, part of it is money earned through the sale of the property.

In her country, her lawyer has confirmed this has been cleared as non-taxable (waived). So now we are set to send the money over here to Canada. Does this need to be declared as foreign income and will it be taxed in some fashion? Thanks.
