So I started with a new employer 3 weeks ago or so and got my first cheque with them last week. I joined at the end of a pay period so it was only for two days. I got paid but have had trouble getting in to app to view the stub and just now I was finally able to get it to work. When I was looking over my stub I noticed something odd, only 7.5% of my cheque was deducted. When I looked further into the deductions All that showed up was EI, CPP, STD and LTD, but no tax. I’m very confused and a little concerned but no one is in till Monday to help me with this. Is it possible they didn’t take taxes cause my first cheque was so small at only two days? My next stub is due in on Friday so I’ll see then. I filled out the provincial and fed forms like I normally do with all other jobs. And to clairify I am definitely employed and not a contractor. If my employer messed up am I on the hook for taxes that are owed or are they?
