I went to H&R Block in 2022 to file taxes and they gave me the wrong advice to withdraw my RRSP(in Feb 2023) which I overcontributed instead of asking me to use the overcontribution in the 2023 year.
Here is the breakdown
2022
RRSP Limit = 10463
March - Dec (2022) = 10000
Jan - Feb (2023) = 4386.44
Total = 14386.44
Withdraw = 3983.50
2023
RRSP Limit = 13935
March - Dec (2023) = 8124.88
Jan - Feb (2024) = 1653.34
Total = 9778.22
T4RSP = 3883.50
Can I avoid taxes on 3883.50 in my 2023 file?
I have booked a session with a tax clinic (Not H&R :)), but want to know details if possible before going.
