If you pay off ur card right after a purchase do you get ur limit back?

Getting a TD Aeroplan card with a target of 7500$ to get a certain amount of points, but the limit is only 5000$ Do I need to make 5000$ worth of purchase and wait for the following month before I can purchase more, or can I pay off the purchases right away thereby getting the limit back?
