A person knocked on my door and asked me about my mortgage. Super weird, right?
All the person said was they had a "client" (he did not specify if he was a real estate agent, broker, or anything else, just that he had a "client") who bought the house next door to me (the house was recently up for sale, and was sold, we don't know who it was sold to), and said that person was having a problem getting a mortgage.
This person asked me how I got my mortgage.
I was super vague, just said that my husband has a decent job, good credit, and we went the traditional big bank path.
What kind of scam could this be? I have never heard of a real estate agent or mortgage broker doing this kind of thing.
I already called the police to inform them of the interaction, and the woman did take it seriously. Just in case, should I call my bank in case anyone targets my house for mortgage fraud or something?
I'm alluding more to the investigation of the neighboring house. Like that's too much effort OP is nosey and paranoid
Why is it any of her business anyway? Who cares!

I disregard all phonecalls unless I'm expecting, I do not answer the door if I'm also not expecting. Not sure how much time these people have to be speculating about pointless bs or desperately answering the door for each and every person.
