EDIT: I have paid the tenants the credit.
BCHydro gave customers 100$ in credit as a cost of living credit. Due to hard times and high inflation.
Normally, I would say yes they get it! But I just purchased the apartment and they recently moved in and will only be living there for 10 months total. After that I will be moving in.
Should they get the one time credit if they are only occupying the space for like 5% of the time I will be? I’ll literally be moving in very soon, also during “high times”.
I’m not some bloodsucking landlord, I feel I’ve been generous to them otherwise. I’m grinding it out in my parents to save money because I can’t afford to live in the apartment otherwise right now. Tenants are international students from Japan they are also not poor.
