NG+: do you use the best weapons, or level appropriate weapons?

When you play New Game Plus, do you use the best weapons you have (so there is no challenge) or level-appropriate weapons (to give you the same challenge as your first play through)?
I have been playing with level-appropriate weapons (except for a few times where I was frustrated from dying far from a save room) but am curious how others play.
