Is the music style of the Persona games a trope of JRPGs, or is it unique to the series?

P5 was the first JRPG I played any serious amount of time with, and then went to P5S, P5R and am now in P4G.
I’ve never really played a JRPG before - have tried several Final Fantasy’s, Dragon Quests, etc. but have bounced off them quickly. I am curious though if the pop-music style of Persona games is unique to them, or if it is common in Japanese games?
