Post Body

I'm noticing there is a lot of cheap land available for purchase in isolated villages in the southwest states. Obviously, gardening in these areas would be a challenge, given the lack of rainfall and infrastructure for irrigation.

But I'm wondering if the land has literally any potential at all, or if it would be a lost cause from the start. For example, I was looking at this lot of 9 acres and it looks very desolate as is, but would it even be possible to design a system that captures enough of the miniscule rainfall throughout the year to supply a fairly large garden (say 1 acre in size) for the growing season? Is it realistic or simply a lot cause?
