It's always gratifying to see progress.
Post Body
This is native smooth sumac. My wife and I have been hammering at arum honeysuckle, autumn olive, and multiflora rose on our land since we got it in 2021. Now these little seedlings are cropping up in their stead. Can't wait to make sumac tea in a few years (it's not as prolific as staghorn, but it'll hold its own) or salt-cured sumac to add to mediterranean dishes. We're intentionally going for a food forest here, but it's always great when the food forest starts trying to grow itself.
