anemic folks - chest pain during period?

these past couple of periods on my first and second days my heart rate is way up and my chest feels super tight, like someone is sitting on it.
i'm assuming this has to do with blood loss & flow. i'm supposed to be taking iron supplements but i've been putting it off because they're on the expensive side... i should just suck it up lol
do you experience this? how do you manage it, besides deep breathing and cold water?
