Post Body

Hi all,

I'm putting this post up for my partner who doesn't use reddit. She is 24, female, about 5 ft 7 inches, and weights around 65 kg. She has a non-hormonal copper IUD and has had it for over a year.

On Monday, she was slightly anxious because she was getting pelvis pain. She describes it as a dull ache, and she said it was one-sided, and later on that day there was a sharp pain on the right side of her pelvis. She was roughly mid-cycle, so the timing would have possibly aligned with ovulation. On Tuesday, she called the sexual health clinic that inserted the IUD, and due to intermittent pain (as opposed to continuous) and she was without a fever, the nurse said that she expected it was ovulation and unlikely to be an infection.

Wednesday she continued to have an intermittent dull ache, so called the doctors, and they said that normally they would have sent her for an ultrasound to make sure everything was in the right place (IUD), but due to Coronavirus they couldn't. Thursday (yesterday) she had no pain at all, and Friday (today) she has had more intermittent dull aches. Throughout the week, she has had small amounts of a brown vaginal discharge too, and she has done two pregnancy tests, both of which were negative. She is getting anxious that it is something scary, and I would appreciate any input on what this issue could be.

Many thanks in advance,

PT
