I just got off the phone with the insurance company and the insurance quote for my house is insane. Like 10 times as much as much as I was paying in another state. It's an older house (1940s) so it doesn't have the features of newer builds. It has an older shingle roof and asbestos siding. I'm off grade (pier and beam) and not in a flood zone.
The insurance agent said something about wind mitigation and hurricane clips. They also said something about storm shutters or impact rated windows. This is all new to me. Thanks for the help in advance.
My question is what have you done to lower your insurance premiums? How much did it cost? How much did it lower your premium?
