Hi, I will keep my sob story to the minimum, I am tired of CS, I no longer feel interested in it and I have lost the passion that I felt when I first started. I am tired of shitty professors ruining my mood with crazy complicated projects and random academic integrity strikes, CS is taking a toll on my mental health, I am done.
Now, I have finished most of my geneds except maybe one GH course, I have finished 75% of my CMPSC courses and I finished some general courses like English 202 and CAS 100. Can people tell me what IST is like? I really don't want to do much coding anymore and I feel like I have a PTSD for code now, there are a lot of options in IST but I don't know which one to choose.
Also, I know it is really really late to change majors now, how many years do you expect to finish an IST major? What about the difficulty of the IST courses? Do you guys think if it's possible that I can take multiple IST courses concurrently in one semester?
I know I am asking a lot of questions here but I am really afraid and nervous but I am determined to make the switch, CS makes me miserable and I want everything switched and done before next semester starts, I have scheduled a phone meeting with one of the IST advisors on Monday but I would like to absorb as much information as I can before that.
TL;DR Questions:
What's the difference between all the IST branches?
What's the difficulty like for IST courses?
I finished my junior year of CS courses, how do I make the switch into IST(Are there any requirements to switching majors this late?) and how long do you guys think I need?
