Thinking of switching into Econ Major and seeking information
Post Body

I am currently finishing my freshman year here at UP, and am considering switching my major to Econ. Iā€™m not a huge fan of the weed at Smeal classes, and enjoy economics more. So, I have a few questions about the program.

  1. Is the program well recognized and is it crazy difficult to find jobs/internships

  2. How math heavy is it? Should I aim for a BA or BS? And is grad-school necessary?

  3. What type of jobs do Econ majors end up with? Wall-St level? Finance field and what not. Is the pay solid?

My goal is to work in NYC, in the finance/econ world. Iā€™d wanna major in Econ and minor in Finance. Any help would be great!
