Cutting a sleeve

I ordered a BC pool boy and mailman. The girlfriend loves them both, as do I!! But I kind of wish I ordered about 1/2 inch shorter internal measurement. Rookie mistake, as I have read lots of posts about measuring a bit long… I am looking for past posts about cutting these sleeves. I was also looking on the BC Etsy site to find out more. Am I able to cut the Pool Boy and The Mailman down by 1/2 inch?
