How painful is a cystoscopy?

My doctor just told me to try a heating pad, and if that does not help (I guess with the burning while urination) I have to come in for a cystoscopy to see about any inflammation and that is just terrifying to me…

How painful will this be? I have insane anxiety that I don’t have meds for. I am also an addict in my charts so I’m worried they wouldn’t even think about putting me out. Is there anything to expect or anything I can do to prepare for this?

(Would taking Xanax or opiates interfere with what they see during the procedure? My anxiety is asking.)
