I had prostate surgery last year and there was significant improvement in my urination problems. Then it all went wrong. My PFD, which I've had for years, got so bad that I've had to wear a foley catheter for several months now. I don't have insurance but my sister offered to pay for pelvic floor physical therapy for me. I've gone three times so far and there is definitely improvement in my pelvic area as far as feeling more relaxed and flexibility. I was scheduled to have my catheter changed today so I talked to my physical therapist about it and we agreed I should try to do without the catheter and see if I've made any progress. Unfortunately it hasn't gone well, still having to go several times an hour. I'll call my urologist's office first thing in the morning and have the catheter put back in. Probably won't get any sleep tonight from having to pee all the time.
Feeling pretty discouraged but trying to stay positive. It's only been three weeks with the PT and, as I say, I can feel improvement. She's given me some new stretches to do and some other techniques. But I'm so tired of struggling with this and today was really disappointing.
