Bought a used MSI MPG x570 board reason being it was cheap and. I have a Crosshair VI which is a X370 and other than that really the price figured what the heck and turn my old board to a NAS. After installed the motherboard successfully I checked everything and everything seemed good but when I hit the power button nothing no sign of life, but the board did turn on after removing the CPU power. Then I decided to take the cpu out and do a bios update on it, this time had the cpu power cables plugged in turned it on and smoke came off what I believe is a voltage regulator. But I did have the processor release leaver up. So is this normal I did check the board before buying and it did work, and the processor I have is a Ryzen 5 3600.
I already successfully despise red the part and is on order was only $4 and is on its way from china
This is the burnt part
