PC Build for Business/Warehouse Tasks

Post Body

Hey everyone!

I’m building a PC primarily for business/warehouse tasks, including:

β€’ Running POS system software

β€’ A couple of Chrome tabs

β€’ Automation scripts running in the background

β€’ Potential integration with management software in the future

β€’ I want it to be reliable, efficient, and future-proof for at least 5 years. I don't have deep knowledge, so I asked ChatGPT for advice on parts and compatibility. Here’s the build with prices from a local store:

PC Build:

CPU : Intel Core i5-12400F (6-Core, 12-Thread, 2.5–4.4GHz) – $140

Motherboard : MSI PRO Z790-A MAX WIFI7 (14th Gen Ready, Wi-Fi 7, ATX) – $340

RAM : Patriot Viper ELITE II 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz – $44

GPU : ASUS GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 – $187

Storage : WD Blue 500GB SN580 NVMe Gen4 (x2) – $100 ($50 each)

Power Supply : GAMDIAS HELIOS M1 750W 80 Bronze – $62

Case : ANTEC NX292 ARGB (4x ARGB Fans, Mid-Tower ATX) – $69

Total Cost: $942

My Questions:

Is there any part in this build that seems overkill or unbalanced?

(I’m aware the motherboard and PSU might be considered overkill, but I opted for them because the alternative suggestions didn’t save much money while sacrificing long-term stability. For example, the Z790-P motherboard is only ~$50 cheaper, and a 500W PSU saves only ~$8.)

Are the prices reasonable for each component?

(I know prices vary by city and country, but I’d love a general assessment.)

Would you suggest any changes for better value or future-proofing?
