***Edit: turns out one of my RAM sticks was DOA. The only way I was able to boot was to try both RAM sticks individually in B2 slot. I will have to return one
I would really appreciate some help!
I put together my first PC today and am not able to get to Bios to install my OS and get setup. Primarily I am dealing with the VGA light being on. (when I turn on my PC the CPU and DRAM lights flash for a millisecond but I don't know if that's standard power on).
I have tried multiple HDMI cables, I have taken my GPU out (turned on PC without GPU) reinstalled it and same issue. I also have a USB-c drive with windows 11, tried booting with that in and out with varying results but still can't get to Bios. (is USB-c ok to boot from? Should be). I've seen that sometimes keyboards won't work when trying to get to Bios but I don't have the older type to use and I would want more confidence that my issue is the keyboard.
I have multiple different things happen when I turn on my PC.
- Power on, VGA light is on, and no display to monitor (keyboard and mouse sometimes turn on)
- Power on, VGA light is on, but monitor does turn on and is stuck at "MSI" screen.(i think it's stuck in POST but I'm not sure)
- Same as number 2, except I do get the screen showing which buttons to press to go to Bios, however it won't bring me to bios when I press the appropriate button
- Sometimes no warning lights come on but I just get stuck at an empty screen.
Is my CPU busted or is this definitely a GPU issue?
