I am looking at upgrading my current desktop (AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, GTX 1060, and the the following RAM):
Kingston HyperX Fury White 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4, 2133MHz, Unbuffered, 14-14-14, 1.2V (4 sticks total for 32 GB)
I will carry over:
My power supply (Strider Plus) 600w
My SSD (Samsung 512gb)
Hard drive (WD Blue 2 TB)
Cooler (Corsair Liquid AIO)
Case (Corsair 350D)
My question is: What would be the pros / cons of upgrading or keeping my RAM? I mostly use my computer for work, emails, and a large number of chrome tabs. My partner does casual gaming but not AA titles. It seems a shame to throw out 32GB of ram but if I will see significant improvement, maybe I will. I will be getting a recent Ryzen 5 CPU on an AM3 motherboard.
Any advice appreciated. I don't really understand RAM at all.
