I’m new to Pcs and I need help deciding what’s best for me

I’m looking to possibly buy a new pc but I don’t know where to start. Should I build one myself where I order all parts or should I get one already made to make my life a little easier. Ideally I would use my pc for gaming and probably work/watching movies etc. Basically an all around usage. Can someone give me some ideas or good things to note before I make a decision. I will do my research of course. Any help is appreciated
