New mid GPU, or new PC?

Hey all!

TL;DR: I have an aging PC and I want to know if it'd be worth buying a mid-range GPU upgrade

First time posting here but I've been building my own PCs since the days of Pentium 3's, which is mostly just to give a baseline of my knowledge. I primarily use my PC for gaming, as well as hobbyist video editing.

I'm at the point now where I probably need a new machine eventually, but I'm not sure exactly how long I'll be saving for it.

So my question is this: given my specs (listed below), would it make any sense to pick up ab rtx 3000-series GPU (or AMD equivalent) for now to give my PC some extra juice, or is that a waste of money/not worth the meager benefit?

These are my current specs:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x 3.70 ghz Memory: 16g ram Video card: rtx 2060 Motherboard: Gigabyte G15DK

I'm guessing my biggest issue is my CPu and/or motherboard.

Anyways, any advice would be appreciated!
