Hi, I finished my first Pc build about 4 or 5 months ago and I've been content with how everything turned out, but now I'm looking to upgrade my peripherals. I want a second monitor so I can use it to look at scripts and my DAW while I produce music. Ideally, I want both of them to be on a stand so it frees up room on my desk (which is already small as it is.) and to be able to rotate so I can change the orientation of both however I please.
Currently, my GPU and CPU setup is the following: an R5 7600 (I will probably get a different chip in the future because I've been grilled countless times about it but that's a convo for a different time. ;~; ) and an RX 6800. My current monitor is an Acer Nitro QG241Y S3. From what I've heard and seen, I'm safe to assume my PC is more than capable of handling "demanding" graphics. The problem is I'm not sure where to begin because I know all situations are different and the computer/hardware rabbit hole is forever expanding and I'm just scratching the surface. For right now I don't know what my budget is because I want to gauge what there is to offer. I know that there are 1080p and 1440p monitors but I want to know if I should go for 1440 or stay the same 1080 as my current monitor and if keeping my monitor would make a big impact. Say having two different branded monitors or one being 1080 and the other 1440.
The next thing I want to bring up is for all my music production peeps or audiophiles, my current monitor has speakers but to me, they don't sound all too pretty. Should I look for dedicated speakers/studio monitors to put on the desk or should I just look for monitors with better speakers? What has worked for you all and what would you guys recommend for budget-friendly/great entry-level speakers/mircophones? I'd love to hear what you guys think because I love nothing more than hearing other's perspectives! (especially because of my lack of knowledge lol.) My next topic is gonna be about how do you guys implement light into your setups (light bar, ring light, etc.) I'd love to hear about that too!!
Ps: SO SORRY ABOUT THE LENGTH OF THIS ðŸ˜, I wanted to fit everything I had in mind to make sure I hit all my checkboxes so I ended up rambling all over the place. Thank you for reading! Please forgive me!! For reference this is my current dorm desk, I’ll be upgrading soon to an apartment so I’ll refer back to this later.
