Looking to upgrade from console.

I currently have an Xbox series S that is unable to play current games anymore. I’d like to upgrade to a PC so I’m able to play games from all platforms. I generally play rpg’s and single player campaign driven games and not a lot of online stuff. I’m wondering if a pre built would be ok or if I should look into a custom build? I don’t have the biggest budget so any recommendations on the cheap side would be great. Thanks!
