has anyone noticed an increase in violations issued in the school zone on newport ave between armistice and central? i (used to) travel that section regularly until i received three separate bills in the mail for speeding (always 31 mph). after the first one, in september, i started being extra cautious driving through there, which is saying something because i already drive like an old man and am very poor so i take every precaution to avoid speeding, as i simply cannot afford to pay unnecessary fines. in late November i received two more within one week's time, and i am positive i never broke 25 mph, never mind went 31 mph on the place where the cameras are. i have a friend who works for a company with multiple vehicles and they recently received four within one week. does anyone know if the city increases ticketing in this manner at the end of the year to increase revenue? the only way to dispute the fine is if your car was reported stolen or you can prove it was being borrowed at the time of the violation.
