Ok, so lately my Dm has had alot of overtime. and I (being an asshole) may have peer pressured the other players into running "Filler arcs", or "Beach OVA's" and its been a super awesome blast. But, I know they are going to tell me its my turn eventually (and I'm not a dick so I'm preparing) and I decided to stick with the "Filler arc" schtick and decided on a classic Shonen anime tournament filler arc, basically my idea is to make a bunch of ridiculous characters based absurd concepts I've had in the past and hold a tourney. Now, my question is, how do I entertain the characters who aren't in a battle (or when its a battle a player isn't in)? What are some good Roleplaying ideas? I had the idea to drop hints that someone is cheating and have it be a mystery they have to figure out on who. But I've ran into writers block and really want to do a good job (1st time running for this group). Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
TLDR: How to entertain non participants in a ttrpg tournament session/arc.
