[1E] Rules about going without sleep?

There was a thread recently about weird rules oversights where OP claimed there's no rule requiring characters to sleep, and some comments pointed out that those rules are actually defined in (iirc) an AP. Does anyone have a link to that thread or those rules, or know what book they're from?
