Combined/effective DC rules?

Post Body

I've seen, on a few occasions, posts that mention using multiple restraining items for a combined DC that's higher than their normal DC. In particular, I remember seeing something about stacking thumb screws, locking gauntlets with tower shields, and some other stuff on captives to make sure they can't move, and it mentioned something about individual items having a lower and the combined DC being higher.

Difficult to explain so in case that was unclear, here's another half-remembered example:

The Strength DC to move an immovable rod is 30. If you put two immovable rods in front of someone, the effective DC for them to move forward is 47.

Is this an actual rule? I can't find it anywhere but I distinctly remember the OP stating it confidently as if it meant something.
