So I've been GMing for a good many years and I am a bit old school when it comes to my pathfinder games. All hand drawn battle maps, custom hand made handouts and item cards Etc. In my last major campaign (Three years back now.) My players ended up getting a whole city and building it up into a metropolis sized place, Council of kings and queens. The point is I spent months as they worked up to the city and building it up and expanding it, creating a hand drawn map. I am by no means a artist nor do I think myself good, but, all my players swear by my maps. The issue is having to redraw it every time something major changed was rough, to say the least, I've tried looking for shortcuts and easy ways out, but I'm not a computer kind of guy and was never able to bring my digital maps up to par with my hand drawn.
So, long and drawn out (Pun intended) I was hoping you all would have an idea of how I could go about either making or finding a way to have it be faster and easier. I've tried using the Kingmaker city sheet from the AP, but I just feel like it is to small and to standard in shape. I was unable to edit it on the computer to make it anything worth using.
