So, as a player, I'm not very build-minded, so to speak. I've always found it more fun to play builds that are either more interesting or fit whatever character concept I'm running as opposed to what might be considered optimal for lack of a better word.
Well, recently I thought about how in a video game, I always seem to have more funs taking a less direct approach, either by being stealthy, talking my way past conflicts or just standing in back healing and using support skills while a co-op partner or even AI do the bulk of the damage dealing. And well, one of the best parts about TTRPGs is the flexibility to create and roleplay any kind of hero or villain/anti-hero you want.
And that got me wondering if there are any good "pacifist" builds in Pathfinder 2e. Pacifist in quotes because are the vast majority of campaigns will inevitably involve combat and the vast majority of players enjoy a bit of fighting, so it doesn't really make sense to play a character who would be pressuring their party for their lack of pacifism, cock blocking them out of fights and, when a fight inevitably does break out, being completely and utterly useless.
It'd have to be a character who for one reason or another refuses to intentionally attack someone, either because of a moral could, because they don't want their hands dirty or they're a pacifist themselves but understand the necessity of violence. or maybe they have some weird curse that could trigger if they kill someone or they're worried they'll slide a slippery slope or something idk
Of course, I imagine it can be a bit tricky trying to balance doing basically zero damage ever while still feeling like a benefit to your party of paladins, barbarians and fireball dispensers which is why I figured I'd get other people's opinions on the concept.
My current thinking would be a charisma-heavy character and/or skill monkey. Probably a caster since I don't know how many options non-casters have for being useful when the going gets tough.
Obviously, this is more focused on the build of such a character, but by all means, I'd love to hear what you would do with this concept on a character level as well.
