(I'm referring to PCs with disabilities and pure RAW)
So, I really like the direction Paizo has went to be inclusive with disabilities and such. Balancing things like being in a wheelchair or being deaf so that those characters can still BE that without being severely hindered except in specific cases (like if the PC's wheelchair is taken away for some in-game reason). You can play as a PC like that with some tweaks here and there to prevent major ableist issues of "well, since you're in a wheelchair, you can't go up stairs, which is important with adventuring" (I know traveler's chairs exist, my point was that their existence helps that little "hiccup").
Except for blind PCs.
Blind PCs get Blind-Fight for free, which is no small thing, don't get me wrong, but it still has a major downside: flat checks. If you're blind, everything is hidden from you, and while Blind-Fight DOES reduce the DC of the flat check, it doesn't negate it. So no matter what you're still taking a 20% chance of failure when you want to target something. And I mean ANY TIME you want to target: Striking, Casting a Spell, Demoralizing, etc. A fifth of the time it won't do anything. That feels really harsh, especially since there's rules for deaf PCs being able to still provide verbal components without issue.
And not only that, but there's also several abilities that are reliant on sight in the wording. Recognize Spell, for instance, says the trigger is "When a creature within line of sight Casts a Spell..." So does a blind PC have "line of sight" when they can't see anything? Or, more recently, the thaumaturge's Mirror's Reflection, which specifies "an unoccupied space within 15 feet that you can see..." So is that ability just impossible to use for a blind thaumaturge?
And yeah, I'm aware of the cure-all of "just talk to your GM about it," but I really want to make a blind PC for PFS because I feel like it would be an interesting character concept (and open the door to some lighthearted comedy a la Toph from Last Airbender), so I can't just "talk to my GM about it." And the way the rules for PCs with disabilities are currently written really makes me wary to actually make the character because no matter how the character is built, that constant DC 5 flat check to target makes it almost universally bad, which is entirely opposed to Paizo's whole inclusivity thing, which seems to be that these kinds of disabilities should mostly be flavorful and only come up mechanically every now and then.
