What's the point of the gi?

Blah, blah, blah. check this video for the revealed stuff.
Anyways, the newly-revealed gi uses unarmored defense, 2 sp, 0 armor, Dex cap of 5, L bulk, cloth group, and has the comfort trait.
That's...literally just explorer's clothing but twice the price. Did I miss something, or is it just pointless?
