If I am crafting anything, regardless of if I pay full price (4 days) or start reducing price (5 days), does the Crafting time need be continuous?

And if not, if I stop during one day to, like, have a combat, can I pick it up where I left it?

I just know that a working day needs to be 8 hours, but I am not sure yet if they need to be continuous to count as one day, OR, if I can like have 2 or 3 days working, stop for some reason and then continue another day, OR, if I can like mix a day of minor exploration and combat (let's say one hour in a forest until we killed the evil witch) with the 8 hours of work done after that and before rest?
