I came up with this idea back in 3.17, but decided to save it for 3.18 so I had a fun meme to screw around with in case the league kinda sucked. Ended up working out surprisingly well; this post will be a little sloppy, but I wanted to share anyway.
Offense:
- SST as the main clearing tool. Highly dependent on accuracy from gear as built; initially used jewellery crafts until I secured a good accuracy helmet using Harvest attack rerolls (fairly easy to get a basic one, somewhat annoying for a good one but not that difficult).
- Tornado for a boost of damage against league mechanics (expedition, harvest, blights etc). It's performed very well for me, and I swapped the ele focus for culling strike in practice but that's probably a matter of taste (particularly if you're willing to put cull on some other link).
- Damage boosters: Herald of Ash, Herald of Purity, sometimes Blood Rage. WoC Flammability and Ancestral Protector for tough packs.
- Of note is the stat stick weapon selection; a Void Sceptre is good if you have enough accuracy elsewhere on gear, but another great alternative is Essence of Fear on a 40% global accuracy 1-handed sword base, since the build uses Spiritual Aid.
Defense:
- 77/76/76 res before gear (currently 1% max lightning res from chest in my live gear setup).
- 50% reduced shock effect before gear (currently 110% with a ring craft in my live gear setup).
- Between tree and pantheon: 80% reduced effect of chill on me, reflect "immune" (110% reduced), freeze immune, 80% reduced curse effect on me. Also chaos res from Asylum.
- Decent life regen and whatever armor I can get from gear. Currently have a Defiance Banner on the live version; you can skip Defiance Banner if it doesn't fit in your mana, but you can fit it without Enlighten - just may need to keep Righteous Decree allocated if you opt to do so.
What It Do:
Honestly, most things have felt pretty decent. Managed 3 of 4 pinnacle bosses deathless (screwed up my positioning badly on Exarch), fluently tackles most league mechanics in T14s (and can push through T16s but it's a little less smooth and more vulnerable to one shots), fairly smooth for as janky as it is.
Tornado has been a hard carry for the build; charging up a Tornado and yeeting it into a crowd to chip away at enemies from range is pretty good for playing it safe.
Footnote: Penetration / fire DoT multi ascendancy comes last.
