Experimenting with new Ambush - Rage Vortex seems like the only path. Any ideas?

Post Body

For the unaware, Ambush is a skill introduced in Expedition that teleports you to an enemy and blinds them while giving your next one-handed attack a boost to critical strike chance and multiplier (counts as exerted, can't be exerted by other skills). New Ambush refers to a buff implemented in Scourge where the skill now grants 25% base critical strike chance at all levels.

I've been toying around with a couple of skills that hit multiple times with one attack to get the most juice out of a single exertion, and Rage Vortex seems like the most viable contender; Bladestorm and Lancing Steel have scalability issues, and Static Strike is namelock melee making it extremely awkward to use without a source of additional strike targets.

Additionally, going Berserker for the Vortex has a secondary benefit; excess critical strike chance obtained from the chance/multi sources on tree (since there's such a great inherent crit chance) can be consumed by Blitz Charges and turned into additional damage output; a Siege Axe with T3 flat and crafted %phys appears to be able to hit hundreds of thousands of burst DPS in a 4-link with no other gear requirements.

Curious what everyone else thinks of the shiny new Ambush - I'm somewhat disappointed that the only use I've found for a dex/int gem is on the pure strength character, as silly as that may sound.
