I followed Zizaran's build guide to maps. He doesn't make the switch from firestorm to ice nova until this late, and now I feel completely lost.

I found another guide on the forums that uses the Svalinn shield and the person mentions how it feels like they can survive more, and how this costs less to upgrade to. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3552529

I'm currently trying to piece together gear with the right gem links now that I am level 70. I'm hoping others will be able to steer me into a direction. Is Svalinn more new player user friendly and cheaper to upgrade to? Or should I first stick with Zizaran's build and try to get gear upgrades for it? I'm sure the shield is about 6 divines on the PlayStation, and then getting a 6 link chest pieces is about 3 divines.
