Is there anything wrong with using firewall or a spell totem as a tertiary skill for RF Jugg?

Playing as RF/fire trap I have time to cast something else on bosses since RF is always on and fire trap burn doesn’t stack. I also have just enough sockets for an extra 4 link skill. Is there anything mechanically wrong with using firewall too? Does the firewall burn stack with everything else?
Also, are any spell totems like searing bond or maybe scorching ray viable for boss damage, or just too clunky?
