Patagonia in Early May?
Post Body

20M who is planning a trip next year to Chile, Argentina and Uruguay next year. I have always found this area of South America interesting because - well its in the Southern Hemisphere - and I like colder weather.

My plan is something like

  • Santiago/Valparaiso (4-5 days)
  • Punta Arenas (2 days)
  • Puerto Natales (2 days)
  • (maybe) El Calafate (2 days)
  • Ushuaia (3 days)
  • Buenos Aires (4-5 days)
  • Montevideo (3 days)

I will be taking busses since renting a car is a bit too much hassle for me and I don't thing I am legal.

Only 3 things I want to ask

  1. Are penguins (king ones I read) year round?
  2. How common is English? (I plan on learning some Spanish basics since I know some French)
  3. What else should I know for things being closed or not open since the season is more quiet?
