How to take photos of a passport without fingers in view?

Post Body
I need to take pics of my passport (for some reason not scans), but the rule is that there should be no fingers visible. My passport doesn't lay by itself. The video they sent me had the passport being taped to a piece of paper with transparent tape, but I think it will damage pages and visas when I remove the tape?
