Test-Taking Anxiety
Post Body

Hi everyone! I’m taking the NCLEX on March 8th and I am having so much anxiety because I am not the greatest test taker. I graduated in December 2020 from an accelerated program with a high GPA which looks great on paper, but doesn’t mean anything to me when taking the NCLEX!

I got a job in December on a COVID unit and I’ve been working 2-3 days a week so I didn’t really put my all into studying until the end of January/beginning of February. I have used 73% of my UWorld QBank questions, took one assessment before I started studying and received “low.” I recently took both the NurseAchieve CAT mock exams and scored “slightly pass/pass,” and two Archer exams and scored “high” and “borderline.” I feel defeated when using UWorld because there is so much content, but a lot of the nurses I work with have recommended it to me. I talked to members of my cohort and the general consensus for their NCLEX seemed to be 75 questions, a ton of SATA (which is expected), but mostly prioritization and delegation — very few disease processes, maybe an EKG strip and peds/maternity.

At this point, I’m studying and feeling like nothing is sticking anymore and I just want to get the test over with! I already have the mentality that I’m going to fail, which isn’t good, but I don’t feel confident and I don’t want to postpone my date even more. Anyone have tips for anxiety regarding the NCLEX? Thanks :)
