So, I've worked for the forest service several times at this point and state parks as well, but this summer will be my second NPS season. First season, they did a super extensive background check through e-QIP. I was told it was so extensive because it was going to be a money-handling position. That position fell through (yay pandemic!), but I got another offer. I noticed when I updated e-QIP for the new position that there were less fields likely because this job wasn't as money-handling focused.
This season, I will be in an interpretive position with little to money handling, so I wasn't expecting to need a background check again. But, I have to do one and it is more extensive than the first time for some unknown reason. It has remembered a lot of the information from last time, luckily, but, because they've added questions or information has gone missing, I still have to go through every single page. And of course the "list every residence" and "list every job" pages are a nightmare for a seasonal parks employee. Is this a misery I will endure for every season going forward with the NPS or am I just unlucky?
