Hi I am an English tourist going to visit Paris in a few weeks. We are cheap so we’ve booked the Ibis hotel at Porte de Montmartre.
We’re not too far from metro line 13, (which I’ve heard is crowded) so if the area is terrible I’d be happy just to use it as a base to get to the centre in 15 minutes, but it would be a shame not to explore our surroundings too. So far I’ve only heard negative things about the area, so was wondering if anyone had any insights or recommendations about this area, any nice places to walk to, or whether it’s best just too leave there as quickly as possible!
I’m quite used to unsafe areas of London, but would safety be an issue for a man who can only speak English?
Merci! thanks a lot for reading
