This morning I was on my way to the Louvre via Metro, and got off at Palais-Royal, Musée Louvre stop. Lo, and behold at the exit, were two (2) Metro officers (?) checking and re-scanning tickets. I had my Navigo Decouverte card. No problem. 4 tourists in front of me had just a regular ticket and their tickets were not scanning. One was being fined. The others I assume, to follow. People, if you get stopped, they aren't playing.
Also, I couldn't chose more than one tag. Getting into line at the Louvre is only to get thru security. I waited an hour going thru Carrousel entrance. The Pyramids entrance line was stupidly long (not to mention in the sun). The Louvre doesn't scan your tickets until you are entering each wing. Denon Wing not only scanned ticket, but was also checking IDs. Sully and Richelieu Wings were only scanning tickets.
And, whoever suggested going to Angelina's take-away window - you're a gem. No line. Walked right in. I got my chocolat chaud, and macarons. Went and sat under the trees on the Tuileries, post Louvre. A lovely (if tiring) day.
