I will be visiting Paris May 12th-29th. I fly into Orly and land around 3:30 pm. I have a hotel for the first 6 days, but was unable to book that hotel for my entire stay. I'll have to play musical hotels.
Does anyone know if something specific is going on in the city May 18th-22nd? These are the dates I'm having an issue with getting another hotel.
This will be my 3rd trip to Paris. Very loose 'plans'. Day trip to Lyon on May 16th (I have a private tour booked). Would like to go to Amiens for the day. Return trips to Louvre and Musée d'Orsay. Otherwise I just plan on wandering the city ( shopping: food, clothes, stationery); lots of sitting a lot in cafés ... Specific point of this trip for me is to relax in my favorite city.
My questions are: 1) Will it be difficult to get a taxi from Orly to my hotel? Or would it be best if I have the hotel (Opéra, 2e) to send a car?
2) My Lyon trip isn't until May 16th. Will it be an issue for me to take the Metro from same hotel to Gare Lyon? Or too soon to tell with protests, etc?
3) Any suggestions for a tour guide in Amiens (I would just like to go and see Jules Verne museum & tour some food stuff).
4) Laundry - easy to find a laundromat? I vaguely remember doing laundry my first visit (eons ago) I'll need one mid-stay.
Much thanks in advance.
