I'm currently waiting for his initial behavioral appt but in the meantime, some advice would be amazing. My 3.5 year old is having some pretty extreme meltdowns over toys or when things aren't going his way. We are working on some simple breathing exercises, but that is a short term fix. He will quickly go back to being frustrated and throwing toys, biting them, screaming at the top of his lungs, just overall inappropriate behavior. I'm at the end of my rope. I'll take the toys away, but at a certain point, we need to start working on learning to work through it.
I can sometimes redirect him to something else to self regulate and calm him down, but if he goes back to legos for example and they are just not going the way he wants them to, he throws them.
I need help. And suggestions. And tips. And anything at this point.
