Does anyone else here work from home where they have little to no daycare and 1 parent is out of the house working part of the week?(We can't afford day care at the moment) I have a 3.5 year old and a regular 9-5 job where its not all meetings but I have work to do through out the day. My partner often advises that I should take my son down to my office in the basement where its a work space and play area for him. I mean realistically the whole house is his play area including his room on the 2nd floor. I can work anywhere in the house but then its a question of me reprimanding him for interfering while Im working. Im told I should be working during his more inactive hours like lunch time... that doesn't work when I am in constant communication with my team and I have items to work on and things come up. Working from home isn't new for me Ive done it for 3 years due to covid and we are finally in our own home where we have more space. On a side note he is potty training and there is no toilet in the basement so its just going up and down alot. I just think that I don't need to be downstairs more till he is more self sufficient and we are almost starting pre school. I feel like Im wrong but also im trying to be flexable... He still goes outside to the park during my work day and other than meal times he isn't very inactive. He doesn't like to nap when I'm home alone with him. Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
