I’ve googled this and everything seems to be about kids who don’t want to use a cup - mine will happily use it but they can’t do it properly and just pour it all down themselves. They are almost 3, and not delayed in other areas other than a very slight speech delay that’s rapidly catching up. I’m not fussed about what ages kids do things when, but I’m mainly just wondering if anyone knows why they might be unable to do this and if there are any cups that might be more suitable. They both just keep their mouths open and try to pour it in, rather than drinking. One is marginally better than the other but she can’t hold the cup without spilling half of it, even if it’s only 1/4 full.
They’re both happy to use it. But they also seem to think it’s hilarious when it spills, which makes me wonder if it’s more of a thing of them thinking it’s funny than a physical issue, but that being said they genuinely seem like they can’t figure out how to coordinate their mouths on the cup.
Any thoughts?
