7 Year Old Daughter - Violent Story

Post Body

Hello!

Looking for some advice around how to handle a situation with my 7 daughter.

She has never had behavioral issues outside of the standard kid stuff. Shes very smart. top of her class. Always doing above and beyond. Takes karate, plays basketball and soccer, and has a great disposition. Literally everything you could ask for in a child.

The other day we found a story she wrote that had some violence to it. IT could be interpreted in a few ways on the point of the story. My questions are around:

  • How to get her to answer questions about why she wrote it and what she was thinking. All she says is she doesn't know what she wrote it
  • How to properly discipline her for writing it

The story:

"One time in a bay I was sitting on my bed. and a bud bang. I was sad I knew what it was. NOOOOO! I hered. AHHHH! I here was a dead body. It was my mom." (drawings of broken hearts)

Any help would be appreciated.
